Paris was THE meeting place for automotive and connected mobility experts this month! After we visited the Equip Auto show, our team stayed in Paris for another great event: The annual “Autumn Meeting” of the international research and strategy organisation ICDP was held at the Mercure Paris Centre Eiffel Tower from October 15 to 16.
We are looking back at two days packed with an exciting program around aftermarket business and the future of spare parts distribution. Day one of the conference started with an overall vision of how the repair and maintenance business will evolve, before focusing in on the role played by online platforms. Our Head of Sales Gwenael de Calan joined a panel discussion talking about innovations in the face of building aftermarket challenges. An update on the ongoing review of the General and Automotive Block Exemption regulations governing franchise networks was given during the further course of the conference.
Day two kicked off with highlights from ICDP’s new report “Aftersales of Tomorrow”. The report will be available this year and accessible to all interested parties. Participants got deep dives into the results of ICDP’s consumer survey 2019. Different topics ranged from car usage restrictions in urban areas, the growth of Mobility-as-a-Service offers and the changing face of used car retailing.
