Back from Automechanika 2018, a fantastic week for Caruso at the automotive aftermarket’s biggest event – feet & legs still kinda sore but with a big smile on our faces!
We made a convincing impression at our very first Automechanika with our innovative & open booth concept bringing the mobility ecosystem to life within the beautiful Festhalle. People were flocking our booth from day one, combined with our already busy schedule the whole week just flew by like a busy whirlwind. We were overwhelmed from all the interest showing us that there is the necessity for our open and neutral data & service marketplace and that the right momentum is just now.
Alexander Haid, our Managing Director, looks back at a more than positive trade show: “Automechanika really exceeded our expectations by far. The owerwhelming interest in our open & neutral marketplace within the Automotive Aftermarket community really shows that we are exactly on the right track. All the players are eager to drive digitisation into the mobility ecosystem, monetising their existing assets as well as enhancing their services with the already available data.”
Our booth design really paid off making the mobility ecosystem tangible, cutting out the fuzz & breaking it down to all the already available data & services. Since our marketplace is all about its participants we joined forces with our strong partner line-up. At our dedicated partner area our friends from ABAX, Bosch, Connected Cars, Eucon, Navads, TecAlliance & WESP shared their experience with Caruso first-hand, demonstrated their services & data and were able to make valuable contacts they probably haven’t even thought of as potential customers.
Taking a step back & putting our partners in the spotlight is also the idea behind our new marketplace interface design which we proudly presented for the first time at Automechanika. Visitors were astonished by the 60 already available data packages or services which they could easily browse through & find exactly what they were looking for. They dived deep into our 14 implemented use cases, demonstrating them how the available offers can work together creating real added value & how their current business model can be enhanced by accessing the mobility ecosystem. As our goal is to continously improve the platform experience of our partners we listend carefully to the feedback we received & already put some action items into our backlog.
But for us Automechanika was not all about creating new business opportunities. Since it is like a class reunion of the automotive aftermarket we were extensively nurturing ties within the Caruso family. It was just great to have the whole pack in one place for the week.
The world’s leading trade fair for the automotive industry offered a fitting setting to officially kick-off the onboarding of our shareholder DVSE who is already realising the first Topmotive services on our platform. Big thanks to Krunoslav Bagaric & his team for the great exchange, demonstrating the impressive Topmotive services at their booth & of course serving the world’s best Gin & Tonics ;). It feels great connecting two minds which think alike & we are really looking forward to dive in deeper at our scheduled visit to your headquarters.
We are also thankful for the great support from our friends at Bosch. Manfred Baden, Chairman of the Automotive Aftermarket Divisional Board, introduced their future services on Caruso at their official Automechanika Frankfurt 2018 press event:
In case of connectivity, Bosch also relies on partnership. In future, open cross-manufacturer platforms and systems will be an even more important factor for success as the automotive environment faces increasing data volumes. Already at the end of 2017, the free data marketplace Caruso started its operation. It closes the gap between data providers and users while connecting data of different players in a common ecosystem and thus paves the way for several new services such as, for example, the remote diagnosis in case of vehicle problems or a direct appointment with the workshop. Fleet managers are supported by the automatic transmission of position data, mileage and routes. We consider the new cooperation with Caruso to be an important step for the digitalization of the automotive aftermarket.
